Livecore

Livecore is a music interest group for singers, pianists, guitarists, drummers, and more. We play music for our own enjoyment, to improve our skills, and sometimes to perform at USP events. Livecore owns an e-piano, e-drum kit, amp, cajon, ukulele, acoustic guitar, and semi-professional mic for common use, so you can try out many things you've never had the chance to do before.

IG Activities

We meet weekly in the Theme Roomsarrow-up-right to practice. Typically, we hold chill jam sessions, which are essentially karaoke with live instruments. We also hold themed sessions, focusing on particular genres or artists. Past themes include Lady Gaga, Disney, and Folk Rock. Members sometimes meet outside of official time to play or practice on their own.

Key Events

Livecore stages several performances for every Start-of-Semester and End-of-Semester dinner. During the semester, we also hold Dining Hall Performances. Due to COVID-19, the dining hall activities are suspended, but we have continued performing for SOS and EOS with pre-recorded performances or music videos.

Commitment Levels

Sessions are on a come-when-you-can basis, but you are encouraged to come often to make friends and learn new instruments. Whether you are an experienced instrumentalist or a novice singer, there's a spot for anyone looking to band up.
