USP Academic Information
USP Academic Structure and Requirements
The USP academic programme has three tiers of modules that USP students must take to fulfil their requirements. The academic requirements of the University Scholars Programme amount to a minimum total of 12 modules. The requirements can be summed up in the following statement:

This is subject to major requirements. Some modules may also be double-counted for home faculty requirements.
These numbers correspond to the number of modules you must take from the three tiers of USP modules. To graduate with a USP certificate, you need to have at least six letter-graded USP modules, so S/U with this in mind.
Foundation Modules:
Writing and Critical Thinking (4MCs) - WCT
Quantitative Reasoning Foundation (4MCs) - QRF
University Scholars Seminar (4MCs) - USS
Foundation modules cannot be S/U-ed except for USS.

USP Graduation Requirements
1 Singapore Studies Module
Minimum of 1, maximum of 2/3 Independent Study Modules (Can be applied through USP)
6 Letter Graded Modules
Read at least 8 modules IN USP i.e USP-coded
Honours (Merit)
DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME (except Sciences Po DDP)
2 HSS 2 S&T (No ISM requirement)
POLY DIPLOMA HOLDERS
1 Inquiry (Depending on Diploma Type)
2ND MAJOR
NO WAIVER
Engineering Scholars Programme
2 HSS and 2 S&T (No ISM requirement)
NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) (1 Year and NOC-SG)
2 HSS and 2 S&T (No ISM requirement)
Sciences Po Double Degree Programme
2 HSS and 2 S&T
For Semestral Exchange Programmes, only up to 2 USP modules can be mapped per semester (up to 4 modules a year)
Withdrawal Rules
If you wish to withdraw from the University Scholars Programme, you may only do so at least 2 weeks before the semester starts. Any withdrawal during the semester will only be processed in the following semester, and standard module withdrawal policy applies.
