What is the House like?
We aim to provide every black house member with the support, welfare and care they need to tide through the semester
Our house is built on the foundation of hanging out and enjoying food together. University is a fast-paced environment which could wear out most of the students. At Black House, we acknowledge that and plan/organise events to act as rest stops for everyone to recharge and just slow down from time to time. We strive for every event to be memorable and a chance for house members to unwind from their hectic schedule. It is always a chill and fun time at Black House events. Skeptical? Come on down to experience it for yourself!
Our regular events consist of a range of activities. We tend to factor in the academic calendar period of our house members to give them support and welfare that is best suited for that phase of their semester life. We have occasional house dinners to help promote house bonding and also for members to be there for one another. During special events like Mid Autumn, Halloween, we would plan unique activities to lighten up the mood and also allow everyone to engage in new activities with friends. There are also surprise treats for our house members across the semester to give them that extra energy and push!

🩶🕶️ Mid Autumn Festival
Our incoming Black House Comm had our first house event to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival! In the spirit of spreading the festive occasion, we introduced activities and competitions to share some cultural knowledge as well as give house members a chance to have fun and mingle within the house. We had our Orange Peeling competition, riddle guessing and mooncake tasting for all our house members to enjoy. We were happy to see house members interacting and bonding over food and games.
🩶🕶️ Halloween Party
With Halloween around the corner, Black House had our very own version of a Halloween party! We ordered in donuts and opened jagua painting stations to give our house members an opportunity to unwind amidst the busy academic semester. In addition, we provided nail polish for everyone to paint their friends (or their own) nails as a fun element during the party. Many black house members walked away with beautifully painted nails and nicely designed jagua patterns. We even had members dress up for our party!
🩶🕶️ Black House Dinner + Bubble Tea
With the piling up of deadlines and increasing stress from finals, Black House met for a house dinner to destress and unwind amidst the tiring schooling period. We also ordered in Bubble Tea for our members to give them that added boost of energy to tide through the tough time ahead. School is tough but Black House members are tougher!
🩶🕶️ Start of Semester 2 Party
We opened up Semester 2 with a party to start off the semester right! Pizza was the special guest that joined us for our party and we all enjoyed the presence very much! It was also nice to meet some of the new exchange students that joined us for the new semester. We were glad to see everyone back and to catch up over our eventful winter holidays. Black House is looking forward to conquering this new semester!
